Programs

We provide a seamless pipeline of developmental programs designed to assist students from junior high through high school. These programs connect students and young professionals with additional education opportunities, resources, and mentorship that prepares them for college and the workforce. 

Young Latino Professionals

Young Latino Professionals provides opportunities for young leaders to engage with like-minded peers through social and professional networking, philanthropic outreach, and professional development.

Latinos of Tomorrow

Since 2004, the Latinos of Tomorrow program has helped thousands of students reach their academic goals by providing academic support and mentorship to high school and college age students.

KC BizFest

BizFest is a four-day seminar, focused on turning student's hobbies and skills into profit-making ventures, establishing entrepreneurial goals, and developing effective leaders and team players.

The mission of the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Development Fund is to improve the quality of life of Latino families in Greater Kansas City by engaging the Latino community in philanthropy to build stronger communities through grant-making and scholarship support.

The Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Affairs Commission (KHLAAC)  is a seven member body appointed by the Governor that serves as a liaison for the Kansas Hispanic & Latino Community and the Office of the Governor. The Commission also works closely with the Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Legislative Caucus as well as other state agencies in order to improve the lives of all Kansans. The Commission addresses public policy concerns primarily in the areas related to education, health, and business.

HBAGKC’s mission is to preserve the recruitment and retention of Hispanics in law school and provide them with financial assistance. HBAGKC provides continuing legal education for attorneys and fosters the exchange of ideas and information among it’s members. The organization serves as a voice for the concerns and opinions of Hispanics in the legal community, and provides testimony before Missouri and Kansas state legislatures on issues of concern to Hispanics. HBAGKC works with other bar associations, government agencies, and community groups to achieve greater involvement in understanding of the American legal system.

Under the direction of a neighborhood-based board of directors, Westside Housing Organization has had substantial success in reversing decades of disinvestment in residential neighborhoods. Known for its housing and community services, Westside Housing Organization creates long-term impact through:
  1. Ownership and management of safe, quality, affordable multi-family and senior rental homes on the Westside.
  2. Home repair grants and construction services that prevent financial crises and promote safe and healthy homes for seniors and families.
  3. Community building and engagement initiatives that support neighbors in advocating for investments and enhancements in their community.

  1. The Academy for Children – a dual language Pre-K program
  2. Workshops on money-management and home ownership
